HHB welcomes Gianpiero Dalla Zuanna - professor in the Department of Demography and Statistics, University of Padova, Italy - as a HHB Fellow.
Starting from 1988, his research activity is focused mainly on families and on marital and reproductive behavior in developed countries, using different quantitative methods, dealing with both individual and territorial data and adopting both a descriptive and an interpretative approach. He is also expert in historical demography, mainly involving the Italian population during the Middle Ages and the population of Veneto during the 19th century.

During the period 2007-08 he was official consultant for Demography of the Italian Ministry for Family Policies and, in this position, he represented Italy in the European Commission for Demographic Issues. In February 2013 he has been elected to the Senate of the Italian Republic.
